No One Can Waste Your Time

No one can "waste your time."

It's a thought that doesn't serve you.

Nobody else can waste your time.

Only you can waste your own time.

Someone doesn't show up to a call?

You get to decide how you want to think and how you want to spend your time.

Me, I spend the 5 minutes before the scheduled time all the way through 5 - 10 minutes after they were due to arrive simply thinking about them. Turning my thoughts towards them. Thinking about what I know about them. What's going on in their world right now. Not from a place of making excuses or stories, but just curiosity. Like how you might think about your grandmother every once in a while - I wonder what she's been up to?

Then, after 10 minutes, I'll use that time to coach myself. I usually leave the zoom room open, still being there for possibility. But I'll decide to use my time, time that was going to be spent coaching someone, to improve myself.

I might self coach in my journal, listen to a podcast episode, write an article.

But I won't spend one minute being mad at that person.

Or shut down my computer in a huff and go watch TV.

Nobody can waste my time.

It's my time.

And I choose how to use it.

You can use it to be mad and frustrated.

Or you can use it to be productive.

Your choice.

One has you spinning in mind drama and going nowhere.

The other has you becoming a better coach.
